I feel that Trump is playing both sides but is not punishing Russia. Putin was never bothered about Kurst until now. So for me he knew it was an opportunity to get a victory. Trump was willing to present it to him. The whole peace process stinks, and feels like Trump and Putin are orchestrating it.

As you say Robin while this may still remain unproven there are too many coincidences, and it nevertheless raises some distinct "possibilities" in explaining recent developments vis-a-vis Kursk.
