Surrender Agenda.
Putin and Trump. Two Desperate Men.
There is determination, persistence, stubbornness, and stupidity but eventually, there is only desperation.
There are two leading demagogues currently sitting on the edge of complete failure. The first because he started a war against a neighbouring country, failed to win it, couldn’t stop, and destroyed his national economy. The second because he started a war on his own country, failed to win it, couldn’t stop it and destroyed its national economy, its legal, system and its position as the world’s leading super-power.
Both have driven their allies away. First world nations now consider the USA to be an unreliable ally. Trump can’t be trusted to stick to treaties and agreements that have sustained the USA for half a century. Trump’s tariff trade war has hurt the USA more than it hurt his trading partners. Given pause, the injured parties are finding new suppliers and customers.
Russia who claimed to have the second most powerful military in the world has been humbled and exposed by Ukraine. They have lost their influence in the middle east being forced out of Syria and the Caucasus, where Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia are pushing them out, even little Moldova on the western border of Ukraine is saying no! Kaliningrad is isolated and St Petersburg is clogged with full tankers than cannot exit the Baltic Sea.
Both have lost the aura of invincibility. The USA still holds the high ground with pure military strength, but the dynamics of modern warfare have changed in the past three years. Great battle fleets are vulnerable to loitering underwater drones. Massed infantry can be wiped out by little flying machines. Tanks and self-propelled guns can be destroyed by fire and forget missiles carried by individuals. Missiles can strike targets 1000 kilometres away with an accuracy of less than ten metres. Aircraft remain grounded until ultra-efficient air defences have been suppressed. With increased international self-sufficiency comes a waning of US world dominance. No one wants their F35s, they probably have kill-switches. US technology is slipping behind new developments in drone warfare.
Both Putin and Trump are beginning to look weak. The bullies have been exposed and found wanting. They are not as powerful as they imagined themselves to be.
Putin is eliminating more opponents by making them ‘disappear.’ Trump is desperately hoping his opponents will go away. Their friends are turning on them. Putin’s leading spokesman Lavrov has disappeared. Is he ill or has he been silenced?
Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has flipped in court. Marjorie Taylor Green, Trump’s leading MAGA supporter is now regarded as Trump’s arch enemy. Republican Senators are visiting Denmark and contradicting Trump, but they don’t yet have the guts to hit the monster with a big stick. Nothing reveals a sinking ship more clearly than when the rats swim to shore.
Putin and Trump both hope Ukraine will give them a path to redemption, so they have conspired to repeat their same old ‘Surrender Plan’ to the world as though it was something new. Trump continues to build a fragile tower of invented realities. His ‘new’ peace plan is supposedly based on his non-existent Gaza peace plan. It might come as a surprise, but the conflict in Gaza continues unabated. Apart from a hostage exchange, nothing has changed. Trump has returned to the old Putin plan, Ukraine gives in, Putin wins his war, occupies Donbas, retains Crimea and peace returns to Eastern Europe. Utter nonsense of course and all reasonable politicians know this.
Trump repeats reminders of how many people are dying in Ukraine in the hope this message will carry some kind of weight. If Trump cared about human life he wouldn’t have halted the USA world aid programs and denied food to starving children across the globe. No one believes Trump or Putin care about lives other that their own. For the war to end all Putin need do is withdraw from Ukrainian territory and stop shooting. Ukraine is not a threat to Russia.
Putin has Trump in an awkward position and holds some damning evidence that would destroy him. Whatever it is, the impending release of the Epstein files is reducing its value rapidly. There is no reason why Trump would push Putin’s previously failed and unpopular surrender agenda, knowing it has no hope of success. It is surprising the main media hasn’t linked Putin’s Alaska visit to Trump’s sudden determination to annex Greenland. In 2019 Danish intelligence uncovered a Russian plot to undermine NATO unity by questioning Greenland’s status. This idea isn’t new it has simply been regurgitated by Putin.
Trump has lost his bully pulpit; he has lost public support. He is under attack from many directions, A failed economy, rising costs, health care increases, unemployment, ICE agents terrorising the public, lost court cases and impending new prosecutions.
Trump still has some leverage over Ukraine. He imposed sanctions onto Russian Oil companies and secondary sanctions on India and China for buying Russian oil. Trump could threaten to reverse those sanctions and give Russia a breathing space to fill its coffers, allowing the war to continue for another year and perhaps achieve another half million casualties.
President Zelensky doesn’t need to change his tune, he has support and he is winning. The cost is high for the people of Ukraine and would be far lower if the USA were fully supportive. In this regard the tepid response of the Biden administration was disappointing and could have been stronger. US support is valuable, especially real time intelligence but the longer the war continues the more self-sufficient Ukraine and the coalition of the willing, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South America become. The longer Trump continues to push the Putin surrender agenda the less the rest of the world needs the USA. Governments and businessmen are finding new trading partners, new supply chains, and new customers. Canada is leading the way, Europe is catching up.
There are two desperate tyrants trying to remain astride the world stage, but trap doors are waiting to open. Given time, they will probably destroy themselves, - if their own people don’t get there first.

That's it in a nutshell. It remains a question of how much more and how many more people will have to suffer before Vladimir Vladimirovich and the Chief MAGA Clown "bite the dust" - either figuratively or physically.
But, a cornered rat is still a dangerous one!
