Charming Robin ( both the prose and yourself). Assuming there were more than 2 Finches, then they are a "charm" ( collective noun for a group of Finch's).
Until last year I lived in a house I loved with a beautiful garden, where I had been happy for 40 years. It was however very close to one of the U K ‘s busiest motorways. I have relocated a couple of hundred miles away and now have a larger garden in which I sit with only the sound of the waterfall tumbling from the top pond into the larger lower one. The effect of the silence has been a revelation. My life is totally calm and peaceful in a way I didn’t expect. You are so right about what you wrote. It is life changing. Keep up the good work.
