It’s impossible.
It’s impossible.
It’s easy to have integrity when you can afford it.
It’s easy to fight injustice when you can afford it.
It’s easy to be generous when you can afford it.
It’s easy to speak out when you have no brothers.
It’s easy to be alone when you don’t need others.
It’s easy to be honest when you’re not hungry.
It’s easy to push others aside when you think you are the best.
It’s easy for those who have passed all the tests.
It’s easy to lie when no one challenges you.
It’s easy to look away when the sight of poverty appals you
It’s easy to believe in justice, until justice can’t see you.
It’s easy to steal when no one could know.
It’s not easy to make the hard choices,
To speak up, and stand alone,
Run the hard yards, speak the unwanted words
Be honest when hungry,
Be truthful when it hurts,
Fight against the odds knowing you will lose
Give what you cannot afford to give
Listen to the dull and ignorant and give them a voice.
Love the unlovable, ignore weakness, forgive the insult, and start again.
It’s hard to do right when every fibre of your being tells you to survive.
Impossible to be admired without behaving admirably
Impossible to understand pain without having suffered.
Impossible to understand without experience.
It’s impossible to be loved without loving.
‘He was a good man and had integrity’ is the greatest accolade anyone can receive from their friends and family and the most enduring gift they can leave behind.
To live respected and die regretted.
What could be better than that?

Indeed. So overlooked these days, as if integrity no longer matters. Especially by a lot of people in leadership and positions of authority. Thank you for spelling it out, Robin.
Nice work, Robin.
