Elbows up Canada😀

Robin, You observe so accutely and write so well. It is so disappointing that what was once a nation to admire in many ways, steered by a leading position once admired and respected, is imploding.

I could not agree more with what you have said Robin, and I'm reminded of the popular tv series "Sharpe" and the episode about the siege of Badajoz. Question is who is there in the U.S., Republican or Democrat, who will marshal up the intestinal fortitude to "lead the forlorn hope" and "storm the battlements" to "boot" the Chief MAGA Clown and his circus come the Mid-terms....

It is a truly frightening thought. The level of corruption around Trump is epic. They all know they are in real trouble come the mid terms. There must be a plan to misrepresent the result or refuse to accept it. They ain’t going quietly.

Personally, I figure his election as President may have been rigged... aided by Musk?

Dick Woods's avatar

I wondered about mentioning that Ivan. That comes from Musk bragging. I guess the Dems do not want to go there based on introducing doubt into the integrity of the system as a whole

Was having a chat this morning with a fellow TDS sufferer and we both agreed the mid terms are the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning.

So very well put, Robin. A very sad state of affairs.

As a fellow TDS sufferer I question whether we can be sure that the mid-terms will actually happen. If so, will the results be believed? For a few weeks now Don the Con has casting doubts on the election with statements about outside interference and the like: what’s to say that they are postponed due to these risks and the fact they are not at war in a war? As he says, stranger things have happened.

Spot on as usual Robin.

For those nations, such as ours, who are 'keeping their heads down' I suspect that they're keeping quiet hoping that those that follow him will return to being 'normal'.

I fear that in doing so they/we are missing the boats on which the nations that are looking elsewhere for their futures are travelling on.

I saddens me to watch our own politics and politicians come from the same direction and shallow gene pool as the US (from Blair onwards) and fear that we too have farther to fall until we as a nation can start to climb again.

Gloomy for a Sunday - but then I'm in Canada at the moment and my 1st coffee hasn't kicked in yet 🙃.
